ABOUT
Ignatius Kusuma is an independent creative director, architect and interior designer working across luxury residential, hospitality and boutique resort projects. Recognised among the leading creative voices in contemporary architecture and interior design, his work has been noted within the same circles as designers featured in Architectural Digest's AD100, Elle Decor's A-List, and Wallpaper's annual design directory. With a practice based between Milan, Hong Kong, Bali and Jakarta, he works with private clients, developers and hospitality groups on projects worldwide.
His work spans the full creative spectrum — from architectural concept and spatial planning through to interior design, material selection, furniture specification and creative direction of brand identity. Projects range from private villas and residences to boutique hotels, luxury resorts and hospitality ventures at the highest level of the market.
Ignatius brings a rare combination of European design sensibility and deep knowledge of Southeast Asian context, materiality and craft. His approach is quiet, considered and precise — rooted in the belief that the most powerful spaces say everything through restraint.
Current and recent work includes a luxury boutique resort development in Sumba, Indonesia — a remote, largely undiscovered island in the eastern Indonesian archipelago — as well as residential and hospitality projects across Bali, Jakarta, Europe and Asia.
He works with a deliberately selective client base, taking on a limited number of projects at any one time to ensure full creative investment in each. New enquiries are accepted by introduction or direct approach.
